F1 crosses were produced between male C57BL/6J mice heterozygous for the null allele of Cacna1c and wild-type females from 30 inbred laboratory strains. This gene has been associated with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The generalizability of Cacna1c +/- behavioral phenotypes was evaluated using these 30 genetic backgrounds. Data for +/+ and +/- littermates are summarized graphically here. Data were downloaded from https://github.com/pcarbo/neuron .

Procedures conducted:
• body weight
• light-dark box  Anxiety-related. 5 min test.
• open field test  Locomotor and exploratory activity, anxiety-related behavior, methamphetamine sensitivity. 30 min test.
• forced swim test  Immobility time. 6 min test.
• acoustic startle test  Acoustic startle response.
