Reproductive ability was investigated across the eight founders of the Collaborative Cross to better understand genetic and non-genetic factors that affect their fertility and breeding. Using an 8 x 8 diallel design, weaned litter sizes were measured from over 4400 litters arising from 62 crosses. Note that the unit of analysis is 'litter' (not individual dam), and sex of each litter was arbitrarily assigned female, resulting in plots that may incorrectly show females.

Procedures conducted:
• colony observation  Litter size assessment.
