Mice infected with influenza A H3N2 virus (one dose) were analyzed for daily weight loss for up to 30 days. The mouse-adapted virus strain influenza A/HK/01/68 was used. Viral loads and leukocyte profiles are also available. Overall survival and mortality rates are available from females and males in Schughart3, and lung weights are available from females in Schughart5.

Procedures conducted:
• body weight  Influenza A (H3N2) virus vs. controls. Several timepoints.
• complete blood count  White blood cell count and differentials. Influenza A (H3N2) virus vs. controls.
• in vitro assay  Viral load in lungs after infection with influenza A (H3N2) virus.
