Acclimation and testing periods

Vendor Mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (JAX®, Bar Harbor, ME)

Ages
Mice shipped at 5-6 wks of age; tested 9-11 wks of age
Feed
Pico rodent chow 20; Purina, St Louis, MO, USA, was made available ad libitum
Water
Water was made available ad libitum
Housing
Mice were housed in an SPF barrier colony and in groups of 2-4 in standard high efficiency particulate air-filtered polycarbonate mouse cages.
Bedding
A layer of Bed-o-cob bedding and one cotton nestlet
Humidity 35-65%
Photoperiod
Animals were maintained on a 12-h light: 12-h dark cycle; All behavioral testing was conducted during the light part of the light/dark cycle and occurred between the hours of 1300h and 1600h.
Temperature
22 +/- 1.0°C
