Source of Mice: The Jackson Laboratory, Annex 9

Age (wks): 4 wks at shipping

Breeding: Founder progeny were mated with C57BL/6NJ mice to assess germline transmission of the null allele. Expansion breeding was used to establish a colony of mice heterozygous for the null allele and then intercrossing to generate homozygous mice, if possible.

Test Facility: The Jackson Laboratory, Building 50 G3A section 1-15; L health status

Feed: LabDiet 5K52 (6% fat), pelleted, provided ad libitum

Water: Acidified, provided ad libitum

Bedding: Aspen shavings

Cage Type, Distributor, Material, Size: Duplex cages (6 inches high)

Cage Density: 3-5 per cage

Cage Enrichment: Nestlets (if single); if over 2 wks single shepherd shacks

Temperature (°C): 20-22°C

Humidity (%): <60%

Light / Dark Cycle: 12:12h (lights on 0600h)

Welfare-Related Assessments: Small mice (<15g) or sick mice get food on floor or diet gel 76A
