The JaxKOMP Late Adult Phenotyping project is an ongoing phenotyping pipeline currently with over 170 knockout strains/genotypes using IMPC JaxKOMP protocols. Mice are tested starting at 65 wks of age and ending at 80 wks. Additional knockout lines continue to be run through the pipeline and data will be updated here quarterly. The primary unit of analysis for MPD purposes is "effect size" which is computed from the raw data using PhenStat algorithms, indicating the difference between a knockout genotype vs. similarly aged C57BL/6NJ controls.

Procedures conducted:
• grip strength  3 trials.
• open field test  Locomotor, exploratory, and anxiety-related behavior. 20 min test, some at 5 min intervals.
• observation (SHIRPA)  Behavior, and neurosensory responses (SHIRPA protocol).
• Y-maze  Spontaneous alternation and other parameters. 8 min test.
• hole board test  Exploratory behavior.
• light-dark box  Anxiety, avoidance behavior. 20 min test.
• ABR test  Auditory brainstem response.
• acoustic startle test  Acoustic startle response, prepulse inhibition.
• ECG  Heart rate and wave intervals. Conscious.
• glucose tolerance  0 to 120 min after 20% glucose i.p., 16h fast.
• DXA  Body mass, fat mass, lean mass, bone mineral density and content, bone area.
• ophthalmoscopy  Eye morphology.
• slit lamp  Eye morphology.
• metabolic panel  Clinical blood chemistry (plasma). No fast.
• organ weights  Heart weight. Raw and normalized to body weight.
