An investigation of salt-induced hypertension. Animals were assessed for heart rate and systolic blood pressure using Visitech BP-2000 blood pressure analysis system, in two cohorts: 1) controls with only tap water to drink; 2) treated with 1% salt in drinking water for 2-wks. Each animal value is the average from multiple runs.

Procedures conducted:
• tail cuff  Heart rate and blood pressure. Sodium chloride (1% solution for 2wks) vs. control.

Mice: inbred   11 strains   ♀♂   age 9-12wks   2 experimental groups
