Mice (non-fasting) are anesthetized via isoflurane inhalation.
Blood is collected in the morning by retro-orbital puncture (~200 µL) in lithium heparin-coated tubes, and stored at room temperature for 1-2h maximum.
Samples are centrifuged for 10 min at 5000 x g in a refrigerated centrifuge set at 8°C.
Analysis is optimally done the day of blood collection (when not possible, samples are frozen at -20°C until analysis); all samples are run at room temperature.
If necessary, samples are diluted 1:2 in deionized water.
Samples must be free of fibrin clots (can remove with wooden applicator stick).
Samples are run according to manufacturer's instructions.
