Elevated Zero-Maze
Briefly, a ZeroMaze Digital Monitoring System (AccuScan
Instruments, Inc., Columbus OH) was used for testing. This
apparatus, dimly lit from a light source 2 meters away and
1.5 meters above the maze, contains four open or closed
quadrants. The closed quadrants are equipped for activity
monitoring (beam breaks). Mice were placed in closed
quadrant 1 to begin the 5-minute test period. Mice that
never entered an open quadrant were assigned 300 sec (the
maximum) for latency.
