Tarantino3: Identification of genetic loci that influence locomotor response to cocaine in F2 progeny from CC041/TauUncJ and C57BL/6NJ intercrosses (2025)

Schoenrock SA, Gaines CH, Kumar P, Khan S, Farrington J, Ferris MT, de Villena FP, Valdar W, Bubier JA, Tarantino LM. Genetic mapping in collaborative cross mouse strains identifies loci that affect initial sensitivity to cocaine. Psychopharmacology (Berl). doi: 10.1007/s00213-025-06901-z.   PubMed 41143948

Two Collaborative Cross (CC) strains, CC004/TauUncJ (CC004) and CC041/TauUncJ (CC041), were previously shown to differ significantly for locomotor response and self-administration of cocaine. CC041 is a low responding strain while CC004 is a high responding strain. In this study, mapping crosses were generated separately from both strains and C57BL/6NJ to identify genetic loci that are associated with behavioral responses to cocaine. Data for the F2 intercross involving CC041 can be found in this study, and data for the F2 intercross involving CC004 can be found in Tarantino4.

Note on studied population: C57BL/6NJ x CC041/TauUncJ intercrosses
