To identify genes controlling plasma HDL and triglyceride, quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis was performed in 1 backcross and 3 intercrosses of mice. B6xC3H was one of the 3 F2 intercrosses, 277 female mice in this cross have were tested for triglyceride level and other lipid levels after they were fed with 8 weeks chow diet followed by 6 weeks atherogenic diet.
