Procedure:
Body
weight

length,
organ
weights
- Mice
are
euthanized
and
weighed
using
scales.
- Mice
are
measured
for
length
using
either
a
ruler
or
electronic
calipers
(bottom
of
incisors
to
anus).
- Organs
are
harvested
and
weighed
(brain,
heart,
kidneys,
liver,
pancreas,
spleen).
Procedure:
Body
composition
and
bone
mineral
content
and
density
- Mice
are
subjected
to
DXA
(head
excluded).
- Bone
area,
fat
and
lean
weights,
bone
minerals,
and
bone
mineral
density
are
measured.
