Source of Mice: Mice with ‘Unc’ lab code were obtained from the Systems Genetics Core Facility at University of North Carolina; mice with the ‘Tau’ lab code were obtained from a breeding facility at Tel Aviv University. Note that official Collaborative Cross nomenclature is used where possible

Age (wks): 7-20 wks at testing

Test Facility: All mice were raised and tested in the small animal facility at Tel Aviv University (TAU), Israel

Feed: Rodent chow ad libitum

Water: Tap water ad libitum

Bedding: Wood chip bedding

Cage Type, Distributor, Material, Size: Animals were socially housed in Type II Makrolon cages (26.5 x 17 x 11.4 cm)

Welfare-Related Assessments: Aggressive behaviors and / or fighting resulted in experiments to be ceased as these behaviors interfere with reliable measurements of social interaction and discrimination capacity
