Acclimation & testing periods
Shipment Mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory JAX® (Bar Harbor, ME) at 6 wks of age Ages 9-15 wks of age at the start of testing Feed Given ad libitum (Harland Teklad 8604 Rodent Diet, Madison, WI) Water Provided ad libitum Housing Mice were group housed and quarantined until 8 wk of age, at which time they were singly housed and given access to a running wheel. Photoperiod 12 h light on, 12 h light off light-dark cycles (on at 06:30 a.m.) Humidity 40-60% Temperature 18-21°C Health status All procedures used in this study were approved by the University of North Carolina Charlotte Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
