Project Bone mineral density, body composition, and craniofacial characterization in 30 inbred strains of mice

Animals were assessed using densitometer dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) system. Several hormonal markers for bone growth and metabolism were also assayed.

Study design: baseline survey; 1 cohort.

Note
These same mice were tested for acoustic startle response and prepulse inhibition at 5-7 weeks of age by the Willott1 project and subjected to a morphological examination of the eye at 6-7 weeks of age by the Hawes1 project.

SEA/GnJ mice of two Bmp5 genotypes were tested in this project and significant differences were found for some parameters. See comparison plots of for all measurements.
