The strain distribution pattern (SDP) for the BXD RI strains is available through the Mouse Genome Informatics Contributed Data Sets and Gene Network. Additional tools and information are presented through the Mouse Phenome Database Specialized Strain Panel Query Form, and Gene Network .
Please note: BXD24TyRww/J (032926) has been inbred an additional 16 generations.
In 2004, BXD24/TyJ developed a spontaneous mutation, rd16, and was renamed BXD24b/TyJ. This strain, formerly BXD24a, was cryo-recovered in 2004 from 1988 embryo stocks (F80) and does not exhibit retinal degeneration. In 2009, BXD24b was renamed BXD24/TyJ-Cep290rd16/J (Stock No. 000031) to reflect the discovery of the genetic basis of the mutation. At the same time the "a" was dropped from this strain name.
The Jackson Laboratory ensures the genetic quality and genotyping of JAX® Mice strains before making them available to researchers. However, phenotypes may vary due to environmental conditions and may not be fully characterized. Phenotype descriptions are based on published data, and JAX does not guarantee phenotype or breeding performance.
