Equipment and supplies

  • Scales

Reagents and solutions

  • Olanzapine

Procedure: Olanzapine preparation and administration

    1. Olanzapine is compounded into high-fat food at a concentration of 50 mg/kg of diet by Research Diets, Inc. (D0909293; 45 kcal% fat).
    2. Control animals receive the same high-fat diet, minus olanzapine, prepared in parallel to control for batch effects.

Procedure: Body weights

    1. Mice are weighed weekly, starting at 7 wks of age (pre-treatment). Weight at 8 wks of age is considered baseline for percent change in body weight.

Data collected by investigator

  • body weight (control and treated mice)

Percent change in body weight per animal computed by MPD

*Supplemental data (body weights at 7-18 wks) are available for this project. See Morgan1
