Acclimation and testing periods

Male mice from the hybrid HMDP panel were purchased from the The Jackson Laboratory (JAX®, Bar Harbor, Maine)

Ages

Mice were between 6 and 10 wks of age and aged until 16 wks to ensure adequate acclimatization to a common environment at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Gonda Research Building vivarium

Feed

Mice were maintained on a chow diet (Ralston-Purina Co, St. Louis, Mo)

Water

Mice were provided ad libitum access to water

Housing
Mice were housed in groups of 3-4 per cage

Photoperiod

12-h light: 12-h dark cycle

Regulatory compliance

All procedures were performed under NIH Care and Use Guidelines and were approved by the UCLA Animal Research Committee
