Vendor LGXSM RI strains were produced for the F2 intercross of LG/J and SM/J obtained from The Jackson Laboratory JAX®

Ages 1-30wks

Feed Standard mouse chow (PicoLab Rodent Chow 20, #5053) until weaning at 3-wk-old; high-fat diet (Harlan Teklad catalog#TD88137); low-fat diet (Research Diets catalog #D12284); fed ad libitum

Housing Multiple animals were housed in a single cage, with no more than five animals per cage.

Photoperiod 12-h light/12-h dark cycle

Temperature 21°C

Health status All procedures followed the guidelines for the care of laboratory animals at Washington University School of Medicine (Assurance #A-3381-01).
