  To investigate the genetic control of salt-induced hypertension, a QTL analysis was performed on male mice from a reciprocal backcross between the salt-sensitive C57BL/6J and the normotensive A/J inbred mouse strains. At 8 wks of age, progeny were provided with drinking water containing 1% NaCl for 2 wks. Blood pressure was measured using the tail cuff method. See Sugiyama et al, 2001 (below) for procedural details and sampling methods.
