Drug study: Evaluation of ethanol sensitivity and intoxication using motor incoordination in the balance beam and grid test, in 8 inbred strains of mice

An investigation of the genetic determinants of ethanol sensitivity and intoxication. Animals were assayed for motor and/or behavioral incoordination following saline administration in control vs. ethanol treated mice using balance beam and grid test apparatus. Four i.p. treatment group cohorts: (1) saline; (2) ethanol 1.0 mg/kg body weight; (3) ethanol 1.2 mg/kg; (4) ethanol 1.4 mg/kg.

Study design: control vs. intervention in various doses; 4 cohorts.
8 strains tested     female male     Test age: 8-16wks
