Drug study: ENU-induced tumorigenesis in 20 inbred strains of mice
An investigation of secondary malignancies and whether certain susceptibilities are genetically predetermined.
Animals were evaluated for baseline hematology. Some animals were treated with
N-nitroso-N-ethylurea (ENU)
and then evaluated for tumor burden in the blood, lungs, and gastrointestinal system.
There were two cohorts: 1) controls;
2) treated with 100 mg/kg body weight ENU i.p.
Study design:
control vs. intervention;
2 cohorts.
20 strains tested
Test age:
9wks; 3-16mo
