Project Unrestrained plethysmograph and anesthetized forced oscillation methods of measuring lung function in 29 inbred strains of mice

Mice were assessed for respiratory parameters at baseline and then again after methacholine (MCh) challenge using two different techniques in two cohorts: 1) unrestrained plethysmograph technique (BUXCO), given MCh doses of 5, 10, and 20 mg/mL; 2) anesthetized forced oscillation technique (FlexiVent), given MCh doses of 1, 3, 10, and 30 mg/mL . The "MCh response index" is the average slope of the MCh challenge series (see protocol for details).

Study design: baseline and intervention in various doses; 2 cohorts.
